this time, the latest species to be declared extinct in the us, and a potential planet that orbits three stars. this is a normal part of the body’s response to foreign objects and is key to fighting off things like bacteria. so, quifu has been trying to find out why, and this week in nature he’s got a paper out that looks at the specific neurons involved in this response. of course, these studies are in mice, so in the future qiufu would like to see human studies to work out if this effect can be replicated, and he has some hope for this. i spoke to nassos typas from the european molecular biology laboratory in heidelberg, germany, who is part of a team that is trying to get to the bottom of the problem, and they’ve got a nature paper out about it this week.
